April was born right outside of Baltimore, MD. She is a self taught artist and has been painting/drawing since she could hold onto a brush.
Her favorite things to draw are people and ideas. And not to forget she greatly enjoys foliage, animals or personifying otherwise every day objects.
She draws inspiration from emotions, colors, movement, basically life.
April suffers from degenerative disk disease that sometimes leaves her in tricky situations when creating. Due to this she fell out of creating after high school in 2005. Today whether laying on the floor, propped on a stool or standing for days she will always get her next piece out.
Most of her illustrations are created just using a mechanical pencil.
Every now and then she will dabble with watercolor or Prisma but in her words “nothing beats a classic number 2”.
Everything in her the shop is handmade by the artist herself or with the help of friends. Each drawing and pendant is hand crafted with her original designs.
In 2009 two very talented friends helped April start her own Online shop that changed her career path for the better. In 2012 she quit her daytime job to focus on her work and never looked back.
When April is not traveling to sell her work at Comic Cons, galleries, tattoo conventions or art fairs she spends her time mostly at her studio/ Gallery in Hampden Baltimore.
In 2016 Always April Gallery and gift shop opened in Baltimore Maryland.
With the help of Kickstarter, she was able to achieve her goal of opening a gallery to involve the art community. The gallery hosts 3 to 4 themed pop up shows to keep artists motivated and inspired.
